With Lewabrane® LANXESS offers an additional product line for water treatment

“Water” is one of the global mega-trends and LANXESS is dedicated to providing technologies to solve global water scarcity issues. With Lewatit® ion exchange resins and the new Lewabrane® Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane elements, LANXESS now offers two premium separation technologies for desalination and the production of high-quality water.

The already existing Lewatit® ion exchange resin product line was extended by a new production plant with a capacity of 35,000 metric tons in Jhagadia, India, at the end of 2010. This new production facility is the most modern of its kind in Asia, and manufactures products for industrial water treatment, for the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries, the food sector, and the power generation industry.

With the entrance of LANXESS into Reverse Osmosis membrane technology, we are taking one essential step forward in the field of water treatment. In the new state-of-the-art facility in Bitterfeld, Germany, the new Lewabrane® membrane elements are produced. Together with the high performance Lewatit® ion exchange resins, we will now be able to provide our customers with premium products as a single-source supplier for both separation technologies.
